Suggestions for Improvements
We rely on subscribers to point us in the right direction.
Share your ideas on:
- Themes and suggestions for future topics for the journal
- People who could write for the journal
- Useful resources, websites and other valuable sources of information and support
- Interesting news
- Accessible places to go and things to do
- Courses, conferences and other events
- Improvements to the layout of the journal or the organisation of the website
To share your ideas contact the editors (info@pmldlink.org.uk) or make contributions to our Facebook page or through Twitter.
We are always looking for positive images of people with PMLD which we can use in PMLD Link journal and on the PMLD Link website.
When someone is not able to consent to the use of their images we need to involve their family, friends, carers and advocates in the decision.
Please see the Mencap Guidelines about giving consent for photos of people with PMLD to be used.
Please email any photos you are happy for us to use, together with a completed consent form, to info@pmldlink.org.uk.
Advertising in PMLD Link gives you the opportunity to reach a large audience of families, carers and professionals interested in profound and multiple learning disabilities (PMLD). We currently charge for the following:
- Full page
- Half page
- Quarter page
Alternatively, we can insert a flyer if you provide the copies.

These guidelines for authors are to help you if you are writing an article for PMLD Link. The editors will provide support for you as you need it.
We welcome articles which relate specifically to people with profound and multiple learning disabilities (PMLD) and which are:
- Clearly written with all terms explained
- Include references and links to enable readers to follow up information
- Include images or photos that enhance the text and where necessary permission has been given
- No more than 1,500 words (excluding references, captions, etc)
- Include your name, role and contact details to accompany the article
Please email your article as an attachment in Word or Rich Text Format, where possible. Please include your address so that we can send you a copy of PMLD Link when it is published.
These guidelines are to help you if you are writing a review of a resource.
They give:
- Points to consider before reading or using the resource you are reviewing
- Things to think about as you read or use the resource

PMLD LINK has a Twitter account and a Facebook page which are used to keep followers up to date with news and developments relevant to the needs of people with PMLD. PMLD LINK welcomes your involvement if you wish to share their own views and comments and provide news and information.
